This recently renovated home is surrounded by mature oaks on a private acre, located near the historic Santa Barbara Mission. The stunning natural setting of native oaks and boulders was interior designer Deborah Campbell’s inspiration for the color palette and natural textures used throughout the house.

Lutah Riggs Spanish Revival Remodel
This is one of the last houses designed by the renowned architect, Lutah Maria Riggs, located in the foothills of Santa Barbara. The owners wanted to update without changing the overall feeling of the house, including preserving the customary "modern touches" found in many of Lutah's projects. Key Spanish revival elements were preserved and, in fact, enhanced. A wall that divided the kitchen and dining room was removed and the ceiling was raised, flooding the once dark, small kitchen with light and stunning views of the coastline. Space was borrowed from an entry closet to expand and enhance a very small powder room. The old shag carpeting through out was removed and replaced with new walnut floors with wood harvested from the owner's Ohio childhood home. Hand painted terra cotta tiles were also used to augment Lutah's original design.
